Twas the 23rd of December and all through the house
The family was sleeping, except for one mouse
Who scampered about on the keyboard with speed
To write up a letter to tell of the deeds
Of the year’s many happenings of the Armbruster clan.
So much to report; how the mouse ran and ran!

The Navy is still much ado in Robie’s life
Retirement’s nearing; “at last!”  says his wife.
It’s been a good tour; one he’ll never forget.
There’ve been friendships, adventures, and few regrets.
But it’s time to move on to new challenges ahead
No uniform to work but a shirt and tie instead!

Lee Ann’s beyond busy for they’re two teachers short
And she’s taking piano and tending the fort.
She’s a member of this and a member of that.
On professional boards and committees she’s sat.
She’s attempting to write and still keep her cool
As Adrian approaches the end of his school.

Our Adrian’s a senior! How fast time does fly!
He’s grown into manhood in the wink of an eye.
He has a new car and a new job to boot.
He still loves piano and plays for loot!
Next fall will bring college but where and which one?
So many decisions for an almost-grown son.

Oh! The mouse hears stirring in one of the rooms.
The family is waking and it may be his doom
To be found on the keyboard! It may seal his fate!
So he hits save and print before it’s too late.
Christmas Eve is approaching so with all of his speed
He jumps down and scampers, proud of his deed!

We hope you enjoy our letter of rhyme!
As always, we’re late! Where goes the time?
We wish you good tidings with all of our might.
Merry Christmas to all! And to all a good night.
