| Now, of course, the lowest pond was
much too large for just Pip and Emma; so I bought my first pair of Koi.
Adrian named them Wolfgang and Amadeus, so they are known collectively as
the Mozart Brothers. Of course, the little beggars refuse to hold
still to be photographed, but you can just see Amadeus with Pip and Emma
in the photo on the right; maybe by the next time I update, I'll
have a photo that shows Wolfgang - his silver and black is quite
striking. |

The new water lily
|
Of course, more fish means we need more water
lilies, doesn't it? So, it was time for another lily, this time a
hardy yellow variety. Meanwhile, a pair of ducks decided to land in
the pond and try it out; but it only took one time for the dogs to go out
to persuade Mr. and Mrs. Mallard to seek quieter lodgings. |

The ducks were temporary guests.

Finally, with all these animals to look after
(did I mention the six dragonflies?) it was time for St. Francis to
arrive, complete with bird bath and dripper. This was actually a birthday
present for Lee Ann, but she let me use it by the pond. Beside him,
you can see the verbena, which did quite well for a time; the goal
was to create a butterfly haven - again, you'll have to wait for pictures
of the result. |

And here are two views of the finished
project. I'm going to have to get a wide-angle lens to show it
properly! |
